Thank you for visiting the DFMICRO Web site. We recognise the public's concern about privacy on the Internet and the Web. This privacy statement describes how information will be gathered about you from your visit to our site, the manner in which it is used and how it is protected.

All Personal Information is treated as per the most up to date provisions of the Data Protection Directive - Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament. It is the responsibility of all users to comply with all Privacy or Proprietary Information Control requirements of their employers.

If you choose to send us personal information, we will use that information to respond to your enquiry and will only pass your details to another agency if it is required by law or that agency is relevant to your enquiry. We do not collect personal information about you when you visit the web site unless you choose to provide it to us to take advantage of a specific service, for example completing an online form. We do not collect personal information for commercial purposes other than those related to the service provided by DFMICRO.

WHAT INFORMATION IS COLLECTED?

SITE VISITORS

In order to view the DFMICRO web site you are currently not required to register or provide any personal information about yourself and DFMICRO has no requirement for any personal information. When you visit and use the DFMICRO web site your computer is automatically issued with a small piece of code (a 'cookie') that enables the web pages to be displayed correctly, and the information the cookie provides allows us to manage and improve the services on the website - this cookie does not however contain any personally identifying information. When you view our web pages as with most other websites, our web servers build logs of activity which contain information about your location in the world and even your computers IP address. In addition on some pages small visible graphics are used to build and enhance this logging system.

SERVICE REQUESTORS / POTENTIAL CLIENTS

Information collected for the purposes of service is dealt with separately from that appearing on the forum / community of practice. Potential Clients who provide relevant contact details do so by either submitting the request form on-line or by other means such as direct e-mail, telephone etc. For the purpose of service it is necessary to record this information in order to allow suitable confirmation and communication with the prospective client. As this information is received through a standards e-mail service or other remote All such communications and the information communicated are treated as private and confidential and all detail are securely stored ex -server electronically or manually and id distinct from the web site. All such information is handled on an individual case-by-case basis and DFMICRO does not collate such material for promotional or marketing purposes. This information will only be passed onto to another agency if law requires it or if the agency is relevant to the client's service request or query. In the latter case the client's permission will always be sought prior to any action on the part of DFMICRO.

When sending us an electronic mail message, you may be sending personal information (i.e., your name, address, emails address, etc.). We may store your name and address to answer your question or query.

FORUM USERS

Forum users must register a limited amount of information, a unique identifier and an e-mail address. This e-mail address is used only for the issuance of personal identification and password for access to the forum. Any other information provided is purely voluntary and at the discretion of the individual. DFMICRO may retain the E-mail address for the purpose of direct communication between the user and the moderator and only for reasons relative to Forum topics. DFMICRO will not contact users for purposes of marketing or promotion and will not pass e-mail details to any other agency for any other purpose other than those required by law.

WHAT WE DO WITH THE INFORMATION?

Any personal information that you provide to us will only be used for the purpose stated above. We will not sell, license or trade your personal information to others. We do not provide your personal information to direct marketing companies or other such organisations. Logging data from site visitors and forum users may be used to analyse demographic and other statistical information about user behaviour in order to analyse the popularity and effectiveness of the site. In performing such analysis and in the course of our business we will only ever disclose such information in an aggregated form that is not capable of identifying an individual user.
